Dr Tracey Shell, BDSc, Grad Dip Clin Dent (Ortho), MDSc
Specialist Orthodontist
In 2001, Tracey qualified as an orthodontist and in 2006 started Pure Orthodontics. Tracey loves being an orthodontist because of the difference it can make to a person’s life. Aside from the physical transformation that comes with straight teeth, she really loves seeing her patient’s self-esteem improve. Her favourite thing is getting to the end of a patient’s orthodontic journey and looking back at the photographs taken along the way.
Tracey obtained both her Dental Science degree and her Masters Degree in Orthodontics at The University of Melbourne. She has reviewed several books and articles for The Australian Orthodontic Journal and the prestigious American journal, The Angle Orthodontist. She has also held a clinical teaching position at The University of Melbourne and is involved in the seminar programme for the current group of orthodontic students.
Tracey has given lectures locally, interstate and overseas, and regularly attends orthodontic conferences which keep her up to date with the latest developments in her field. She holds professional memberships with the Australian Society of Orthodontists, the Australian Dental Association, the American Association of Orthodontists and the World Federation of Orthodontists. She is a registered specialist orthodontist with the Dental Board of Australia and is a past President of the Victorian Branch of the Australian Society of Orthodontists.
In her spare time, she loves being with her husband and her three beautiful children. She also enjoys cooking, doing anything creative, especially painting, and exercising. She does sometimes struggle with the latter!
