27 Mar Coronavirus Update
To our amazing extended Pure Orthodontics Family,
As you all know, we are facing challenging times right now, and our number one priority is to ensure the health and safety of you, your families and our team. We are now coming into the busy school holiday period, where our patient volume increases dramatically and at times, our waiting room overflows.
Therefore, after careful consideration of the evidence at hand, we have decided to enact the following:
- Commencement of active orthodontic treatment (e.g. placement of braces and other appliances) will be delayed unless that delay would compromise the outcome of treatment (e.g. most extraction cases where the extractions have already been done).
- New Patient consultations will be deferred or done by virtual technology if possible. Patients in active treatment will continue to be supervised to ensure routine treatment does not become urgent. Regular adjustments for patients in treatment will be needed, however all COVID-19 health and safety precautions will be observed.
- Routine retainer checks and recalls (case by case) will be managed by methods other than face to face consultations, such as phone calls and/or virtual consults.
We will be in touch with you individually prior to your scheduled appointment if you are affected by these changes.
We understand that some of you, especially those about to start treatment, will be disappointed. As soon as we can, we will return to normal operating procedures, but for now we have to put your health and safety first.
