Invisalign

Many people who would like to straighten their teeth never go through with treatment because they just don’t like the way braces look. With Invisalign™ aligner technology, we are able to straighten teeth and correct functional bite problems with clear, removable aligners.

What is Invisalign?

Invisalignis a series of near-invisible, removable, and comfortable aligners used as an alternative to braces to straighten teeth.

What are the advantages of Invisalign over braces?

  • Invisalign aligners are clear and far less obvious than traditional braces, so most people may not even notice you’re having orthodontic treatment!
  • As Invisalign aligners are removable, you will be able to brush and floss like you always have, making it easier to maintain great oral health throughout your treatment.
  • If you have a big event coming up, just remove the aligners before the event and pop them back in when it’s over!
  • Invisalign aligners are comfortable, with no metal to cause ulcers or mouth abrasions during treatment. And no metal and wires usually means you spend less time in your doctor’s office getting adjustments.
  • Braces can sometimes come loose or an arch wire can poke your cheek, necessitating additional unplanned visits to your orthodontist.  This problem does not exist with Invisalign.
  • When your orthodontist is planning your treatment, Invisalign will provide a digital video of the predicted way your teeth will move throughout treatment. This is viewable to you before you even agree to go ahead!

How does it work?

You wear each set of aligners for about two weeks, removing them only to eat, drink anything other than water, brush, and floss. As you replace each aligner with the next in the series, your teeth will move — little by little, week by week — until they have straightened to the final position your doctor has prescribed. You’ll visit our practice about once every 6 to 8 weeks to ensure that your treatment is progressing as planned. For very simple cases, total treatment time typically lasts 9 to 15 months.  For very complicated cases, treatment can last 2 years or more.

Consider Invisalign to get the beautiful straight teeth you’ve always wanted – without braces. A consultation with one or our orthodontists can determine if Invisalign is right for you.
